ABOUT THE AUTHOR Nando Cesarone is the President of UPS Europe. Based in Brussels, he is responsible for the UPS business and operations in the nearly 60 countries and territories across Europe, including all of UPS’s package delivery, freight forwarding, and contract logistics and distribution activities. The Europe region, which has more than 45,000 employees, is UPS’s largest non-US operation.Mr Cesarone joined UPS in 1990 as a part-time employee in package operations in Toronto, Canada, while attending university. In 1992, he began working full-time as a package delivery driver. This was followed by numerous management positions in package operations, transportation and industrial engineering in Canada.In 2008, he became the country manager for UPS in Switzerland and in 2009 additionally took on the role of UPS country manager for Austria and Hungary, before being promoted to the position of president of UPS North-East Europe in early 2012. In 2013, Mr Cesarone became the President of UPS South Asia, based in Singapore. He was named President of UPS Asia Pacific in 2014 and served in this role until taking on his current position as President of UPS Europe in early 2016. Cesarone holds an MBA from Heriot Watt University – Edinburgh School of Business.
