In recent months there has been an important development in NADFAS – the fi rst change in Area structure in 25 years. As a result of fi ndings in the Area Boundaries Working Party Report, the South Mercia Area has been abolished and in its place are two new Areas: Chiltern Hills Area and Wyvern Area. The change is to take account of the near doubling in the number of NADFAS Societies since South Mercia Area was established 25 years ago. The Area Chairmen are Dory Thompson (Chiltern Hills) and Pamela Elder (Wyvern).President Loyd Grossman sent his best wishes to the two new Areas and congratulated them on reducing the size of Areas to make them more able to help start up new Societies and help NADFAS expand. “I hope that your example will encourage other Areas to follow suit, when the time is right,” he said.
